Dr Sally Basker is CEO of Exeter Science Park Ltd (ESPL), a joint venture by Devon County Council, East Devon District Council, Exeter City Council and the University of Exeter that is establishing the focal point for a thriving, innovation-based knowledge economy with high-value jobs, enhanced productivity and economic growth.

Sally has over 15-years’ board/senior-level R&D and innovation experience in the highly-regulated aerospace, defence, navigation and nuclear sectors. Recent roles have included Head of Business Development for the UK Atomic Energy Authority, Director of Research and Radionavigation for the General Lighthouse Authorities and management consulting roles.

Sally has Ph.D and B.Eng(Hons) degrees from the University of Nottingham and an MBA from Henley Business School. She is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation and was an invited participant on the Prime Minister’s Top Management Programme at the National School of Government.

Sally lives on Dartmoor. She is a keen walker and plays timpani and percussion for several orchestras.
